Today the first course from outside The Netherlands, Costa Adeje on the South west coast of Tenerife. I played three rounds here last May when i was on Tenerife for a holiday. http://www.golfcostaadeje.com/en/
The course has featured a number of professional tour event, European Tour, European Senior Tour and Ladies European Tour all had stops here.
Practise facilities are good, but it had a premiere for me. To reach the Driving Range you needed to walk a little and take an elevator about 4 stories down to reach the Range. The Range itself is an uphill range which is a little strange in the beginning. It did feature something you rarely see in The Netherlands, grass tees, i really enjoyed that.
The course itself is pretty wide, which helps in playing it. Green are superfast, especially when you compare them to Dutch courses. Stimpmeter was at a solid 11 all week long. A unique feature on this course where the terraces on the fairway. The designer managed to build fairly flat fairways on an island that doesnt have much flat ground. He used terraces for that. The views are spectacular on almost every hole. The final stretch, 15 through 18, the course gets lots tighter, which makes the finish rather tough. I really liked playing here, it is in my personal top5, I managed to play my handicap during the third time i played here.
Good!
