With these posts I generally like to stick to old-school anime. However, as time goes on there are more and more modern anime that are absolutely worthy of their own posts.

The heart of the best stories always follows the same pattern. A great story that is already spectacular then introduces a twist that makes it somehow even better. Attack on Titan is no exception. Now, I'm pretty strict with myself and spoilers in the posts that I make but a general synopsis is as follows.

Eren Yeager is a military recruit along with his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. They've joined because, after an attack on their village by Titans, humanoid giants who wreak havoc and eat humans for seemingly no reason, they've got nowhere to go and vengeance on their minds.

Humanity has mostly been pushed back to a series of concentric walls that protect their society from Titans and the outside world. But now, the walls are coming down both literally and metaphorically as Titans rampage in the main villages and cities and secrets of their society and the people in it begin to be laid open.

The tension and drama of this series are second to none. If you begin watching, chances are you'll end up gobbling as many episodes down as time will allow. If you've already started or finished the first season, good news: the second one is out!
