A poem by naltedtirt

this dreary day i ask to end
another friend has stepped aside
and parted ways with me again
as with the changing of the tide.

my glass in hand will i raise high
to say a final toast to you
and whisper one last trembling sigh
i say "my once true, friend.....adieu."

Hello friends, nothing is wrong so no worries. This is a poem I wrote once upon a time when I was down. I thought it too good and sad to be locked away somewhere. I liked the way each line had 8 syllables.

I have others...none as sad as this. Most are more cheerful.
