Happy places, happy days, happy thoughts...Even though I fell like I'm in a self-help book. I really don't like self-help books. Or is it rather that I don't like the self-help gurus behind them. It's a topic worth exploring but that's a subject for another day. But there may be something in setting the tone for the day. With music. With some happy songs.

I decided to steal a few minutes to listen to some music and drink my coffee this morning. And I've put on a song I love, one of my top three, I haven't heard for the longest time. I really need a booster because I had so little sleep and a long day is ahead of me. I went to bed an angry mother because I was so tired and I want to be kind and cheerful this morning to make it up to them. Plus, this musical posts kind of grew on me.

So here are my three top happy songs. My three top songs ever actually. Mobile happy places you go to inside your head any time you wish.

The lyrics mean that I will be ok and it's ok if not everything is as ok just yet. The song is hopeful to me. The song is by a great German bend Beatstakes from their, equally great 2007. album .limbomessiah. They sing in English and if you like bands like Arctic Monkeys or Franz Ferdinand you'll like them too. I find them to be even better.

Mala Truba

If you never heard of Damir Urban you are probably not Croatian. If you are Croatian and still don't know who he is I have no words for you. He is my absolute favourite Croatian performer. he has the most powerful voice I've heard sing and his lyrics are like abstract paintings that came to life. I even have a tattoo inspired by one of his songs. He is great on the track but the concerts are where it all really comes to life. He is beyond this world fantastic live. I especially encourage you to listen to Mala Truba if you aren't fluent in Croatian. I am sure the music alone will be able to get you in a good mood. The lyrics are about a little trumpet (mala truba) that keeps on playing. ''Sad je dobro. Mala truba svira dalje.'' says the course, or translated ''It's all good now, the little trumpet keeps on playing.'' Please let me know in the comments what you got from the song.

Scar Tissue

The classic. The best. The one and only. I consider Red Hot Chilli Peppers to be the greatest band of all time. Well, I know that's objectively disputable fact but they are my favourite band of all times so...Scar Tissue is also a hopeful tune for me. It possesses a certain serenity for me. A beauty in being alone. And the instrumental parts in it. John Frusciante is killing it (as usual). The start is so...tan tan trn tn tn tn...beautiful. I'm in love with it. And have been for 15 years now, from when I first heard it. My all-time favourite song, for sure.

As I wrote in my POST from the other day, I always had this idea that I'd whip out my yoga mat and meditate in the morning like many of my lovely fellow Steemers do but I think it's time to admit I'm not that kind of girl and it's not my kind of world, no it's not for me.
