Good Vibes #3, a little pick me up... because I need it this week.

I've been thinking a lot lately about some small things that I could do every day to be a bit more positive. And I have decided that my answer has been there for me my whole life... I just didn't realize it, until now. The idea hit me and almost knocked me over!
---It's music.---

For week #3, I wanted to post some pick me up songs. It's been a rough weekend for me and music is just the medicine I need to pick myself up to keep on keepin' on. These two songs are complete opposites of the music spectrum. By that I mean that one is a beautiful acoustic and piano song and the other is a heavier song, i.e. metal. But both are very important to me personally. Especially when I'm down in a low spot. They help me to realize that just because it's bad now, doesn't mean it will be forever. And that change is in my hand, if I work hard enough to do what needs to be done.

First up is a beautiful song by my dear friend, @jessamynorchard called Be Satisfied.

The amazing vibe from the piano, guitar, and her beautiful vocals will instantly put me in a trance that is flooded with peace and calm. And the lyrics bring me to tears when I realize that life is tough, not always in the same ways for everyone, but it will get hard for us all one time or another. And this song gives some great advice for those who are in the rough spots of life. Not only that but it gives me great pride to know this woman in the personal way that I do, because believe me... These lyrics are only the start to the wisdom that is inside this beautiful woman's head. I am honored to say that I have sat with this amazing person many a night and just talked... About music, life, children, parents, rights, wrongs, and everything in between. If you're looking for more from her, the whole album is worth the listen. It will change your life!

Second up, a heavier song by Mastodon called The Motherload.

Now, I know you'll look at this and say "What?! Why that song?" and I know the video is a bit... odd... but if you listen to the lyrics, you'll understand why I picked it! I feel in love with Mastodon years ago, and they have been hitting me with great songs ever since! A fully talented band with amazing guitar riffs and actual emotion filled lyrics. I know it's hard to always know what a song is truly about if you didn't write it personally, but the thing I love about music is that when you are in that spot, lyrics can hit you in the feels and help. Even if what you are going through wasn't the exact thing the song was written about. Here are some lyrics from this song that will help you understand:

"This time, things will work out just fine. We won't let you slip away..."

I just love the positive outlook that this song brings me. Usually Mastodon is a pick me up just because of the driving music and melodic metal that I so dearly love. But this song is the best all rolled up in one!

So there you have my Good Vibes #3. I hope you've enjoyed the songs and maybe got a better outlook on your day from them as I have! I'm going to try and make a post every week of a few songs that give me good vibes and positive thoughts, and tag it with #goodvibesmusic! I would love to hear your thoughts and also your good vibe songs! Either post them below or make your own post and tag it! Let's spread some positive music and vibes all over Steemit! Peace!

That was a great song by @jessamynorchard. Mastadon I have also loved for years ever since I moved to Atlanta before they were a big name and that video reminded me of Atlanta, especially with all the strippers. Life gets hard for everyone indeed and we have to be tough to get through it and out the other side where we really belong.
PEACE!

Haha! Nice! So that explains the twerking... \m/ Bwahahaha!!!

Goodvibes whisky :) https://steemit.com/dsound/@jeffandhisguitar/20180224t120614779z-metallica-whisky-in-the-jar-acoustic-instrumental-jeff

Ooooooo!!! I like whiskey vibes! Haha! I'll definitely check it out when I get my computer going! My internet is being screwy today so I'm on my phone at the moment! ;)

This is the prescription you need! That and no more sad "she's been through hell and back" word porn on facebook. That shit will drag you down faster than a ton of bricks. I'm so glad you're finding things to pick you up. I'll see you later today, beautiful!

Music is my only medicine... And that stuff on Facebook only reflects where I am, not where I'm headed. I look forward to seeing you!

I'm glad to hear that. Let's look at the bright new day ahead and leave those dreary days behind. :)
