Good Vibes #6, great songs to help find those good vibes!

in goodvibesmusic •  7 years ago

I've been thinking a lot lately about some small things that I could do every day to be a bit more positive. And I have decided that my answer has been there for me my whole life... I just didn't realize it, until now. The idea hit me and almost knocked me over!
---It's music.---

First up for week #6 is Voodoo by Godsmack!

I've always thought of this song as a chill, groovy song! The tribal sounding drums and of course his low, sexy vocals just make it one hell of a good vibe song! Plus Godsmack was the first concert I ever went to, and they have the honor of popping my concert cherry and stealing my concert virginity. Haha! And being only 16 at the time, I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable moments of my teen years! It was a decently small venue in Springfield (that isn't even there anymore), and I got the whole concert experience! From crowd surfing to the breath-taking energy of great, live music. Plus I met a really cool security guard that didn't throw me out for smoking a joint inside... In fact he just asked for a hit and left me be. Being so young I was scared as hell, but everything worked into one amazing night, and it all ended with this amazing song. I've always loved Godsmack's style and music! Whenever there was a party in high school, it was guaranteed that you would hear a Godsmack song at some point that night.

The next song I have for you is Mexico by Incubus!

Incubus is yet another diverse band that I fell in love with the moment I heard them! They have the hard stuff, the electronic side, and of course beautiful acoustic songs like Mexico. This guitar part is just so beautiful and emotional to me, not to mention the amazing vocals, and even though the song is about leaving for Mexico if change isn't seen, it still just makes me feel great when I hear it. You can truly feel the emotion of him knowing that this is the only option left. I'm a firm believer that the hardest times in life will bring the most creative growths that stay hidden deep inside us. And this is a great example of one escaping to share it's emotions with the world. For this video, I went for the live version, because I love seeing people perform, for one, and also because you can really see the true emotions on the faces of those who perform the music. After all... that's what made me a concert junkie in the first place. ;)

So there you have my Good Vibes #6. I hope you've enjoyed the songs and maybe got a better outlook on your day from them as I have! I'm going to try and make a post every week of a few songs that give me good vibes and positive thoughts, and tag it with #goodvibesmusic! I would love to hear your thoughts and also your good vibe songs! Either post them below or make your own post and tag it! Let's spread some positive music and vibes all over Steemit! Peace!

This music is not mine! Videos are off YouTube.
And these are just my opinions of the songs!

Nice post. I like the idea. Music is the answer. It sounds cheesy and trite because so many people say it, but music has pulled me through so much. Maybe everybody says it because it's so universally true.

I'd like to share some good vibes songs of my own, but lately I've just not been feeling many good vibes. I feel kinda scattered and anxiety ridden at the moment. There's music for that, I know. To cure it, I'm trying. Ups and downs, and bumpy spaces, just traveling through some bumpy places at the moment. Hmm, what song? I'll think on it. If I can come up with one, I'll come around and share.

Funny you're doing this, because I've had a similar idea. Sometimes I get hooked on a song I like so much, I just wanna share it. What this place is for, so why not?

Exactly! And music is my main medicine! I've either got to listen to it or perform it once a day... I also get hooked on certain songs sometimes and that's exactly why I started this. Plus I was hoping that it would help someone else that's going through rough patches as well. ;) Music is magical and universal! \m/

It's my main medicine too. Chosen, when I've had issues, as a good alternative to the pills that make you flat. Somehow I'd rather cry it all out than take a pill that makes that near impossible. I always have such dumb hope mixed with pessimism. Funny combo but it seems to get me out the other side with my full range of emotions intact. Emotions can tear you apart, but it's also what makes us human. And what drives artists and musicians too. Without it we'd all be robutts pushing buttons, strumming chords. No thanks. It does seem magical sometimes.
