WHEN you call a customer service phone number , you are sometimes asked to wait quite a bit. This may be due to a queue of callers.
But now this problem can be solved. If you have an Android device, Google has recently updated its phone feature which will be more integrated with the Google Assistant.
This means that users who are asked to wait for a phone call can now ask Google Assistant to replace them. This is thanks to the Hold for Me feature.
When it's time for a phone call, the Google Assistant will call you with a sound, vibration and notification on the screen.
Quoting from Ubergizmo , Thursday (1/10/2020), Google claims the new Hold for Me feature powered by the AI Duplex system is smarter for such things.
They also say this feature can differentiate the various systems used for customer service. For example the difference between recorded operator voice messages and music.
But unfortunately for now the feature is only available as an initial preview for Google's recently released Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G models.
