Why Google Is Hiring Over 1,000 Journalists And Why You Should Be Concerned

Google announced its latest venture: the Google News Lab. a destination that aims to connect journalists with programs, data and other resources to aid in their reporting. It will be working with Report For America (RFA), called a national service project, to hire 1,000 journalists all around the country. The Google News Lab Summit is looking to place 1,000 journalists in local newsrooms in the next five years. Report For America takes ideas from several existing organizations, including the Peace Corps, Americorps, Teach for America and public media. newsrooms will apply for a journalist.
RFA will accept emerging journalists, who will will apply to be part of RFA. RFA will pay 50 percent of that journalist's salary, with the newsroom paying 25 percent and local donors paying the other 25 percent. That reporter will work in the local newsroom for a year, with the opportunity to renew. Google’s looking for a larger role in the world of journalism.

So, Why should you even care?

We know the political interest of Google. We can base it upon the handling of their former employee and his infamous memo. Simple excerpts from the memo give us a behind the scenes look into the policies and culture of Google as an organization.

Those involved in this Journalist outsourcing organization that is RFA are from the typical leftist news organizations, such as NBC, PBS, NPR, and the New York Times.




Google also owns YouTube. Conservative views are being silenced on that platform in a couple of ways. They are currently demonetizing conservative accounts. Typically, if a video is posted on YouTube and receives a number of views, YouTube will begin to pay you for bringing this type of traffic to their site. Many have found ways to turn this into a full blown business, without having to supplement it with any other revenue streams. Conservative shows, such as “Louder with Crowder” (Steven Crowder’s show) and Mark Dice made shows that could sustain them entirely. Now that YouTube has magically switched its monetizing methods, mostly towards conservative content, they’ve lost revenue. This isn’t conspiracy or paranoia, as they’ve shown the metrics and how it’s changed based upon the reports that they receive from YouTube.

But not only are they minimizing the money they give to conservative content providers, some videos are simply being outright removed. Musicians like Joy Villa and comedians such as Nick Dipaolo, who have right leaning views, have seen their videos completely disappear from the platform altogether.
They’ve even changed the way the results of searches on Google are handled. We have to care about all of this because the way we receive information is being handled by those who want to push a progressive policy and ideology. And with the revelation of Media Matters collusion with Google shows they want to use their power and influence to support liberal activist and squash conservative views.

Yes, you can use other search engines, like “Duck Duck Go” (which DOESN’T track your searches, by the way), but the resources that they can deliver to support this encroachment on opposing views should bother you greatly. When you realize that Media Matters is an organization built with the help of Hillary Clinton, you should be concerned. It’s even more concerning when that organization, coupled with Color for Change (who attacks the advertisers of Conservative show hosts like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and most recently Bill O’Reilly) is under the umbrella of an organization like Democracy Alliance.

A bit of background behind Democracy Alliance, it’s a donor network founded in 2005. They raise 50-60 million a year for progressive causes. George Soros is affiliated with the organization and also held a summit with Progressives. Their investments are troubling at best. Organizations that they encourage people to donate to consist of: Media Matters, Organizing for America, C.A.P., Brennan Center, W.F.P., Wellstone. They fund raise for candidates outside of normal giving’s, like Pramila Jayapal. They fund raise for The House Majority PAC. It's a secret donors network, most likely shrouded in the form of an LLC. 80 Wealthy Liberals started Democracy Alliance. Some of the organizations behind it include: The Chairman-Rob McKay and McKay Foundation. Members include: Vice Chair-Anna Burger, who is from SEIU. The SEIU is a member of the alliance. Other members include: George Soros, Jonathan Soros, Anne Bartley (Formerly of Rockefeller Family Fund), Susie Tompkins Buell, Mark Buell, Rob Reiner, Steven Gluckstern (Owner of the Islanders and a part of Mortgage Resolution Partners, who seized underwater properties throughout with the help of eminent domain), Noel Beasley (Head of SEIU amalgamated bank), Andy Goldman (Sol Goldman's daughter, whose father owned the Chrysler Building), Phillip Munger (Son of Charles Munger, the Vice Chairman of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway), Michelle Ringuette (American Federation of Teachers), Board Chairman John C Stocks (Executive Director of NEA. who also donated to Media Matters), Susan Sandler, Weston Milliken, His father is Roger Milliken (Founder of American Spectator ) which is not noted on the site. Also on the board is Cynthia Ryan-board member, an Obama Bundler from Schooner Capital, Farhad Ebrahimi, George Kohl of Sterling Bay-Chicago Real Estate Developers, and Larry Cohen.

Be aware that the mission to regain control over information that was once only filtered through three major Television news agencies, Newspapers with progressive spins, and tenured progressive professors is on the march. And if you aren’t familiar with how they plan on doing it and who is involved, you will never see it coming. You will wonder where the values and the information that supports your values went and why it disappeared.
