We will see Chrome OS tablet in the near future as with latest update of Chrome OS (64), Google is making a much needed tablet-focused feature for Chromebooks. This will be a new split-screen feature for multitasking while in tablet mode. These features will definitely help Chrome to become the hybrid OS for all types of Google-powered screens.

To achieve this Google’s Chrome and Android teams have been working very closely for quite a while. As per developers, this new development will help the way for hybrid computing devices like 2-in-1 Chromebooks. Chrome OS will have Android app compatibility to run in the background. In addition to this feature, Google is also working on touch-focused redesign of Chrome OS to make the software more functional in tablet mode.

No doubt, Android is the dominant mobile OS of Google but with the new phase of developments in Chrome OS, Google is steadily making Chromebooks more capable and tablet-like.
