Course 2 of the Google IT Support Certification focuses on all aspects of networking. It starts with the fundamentals, then work its way to protocols and applications followed by network troubleshooting. Possibly the most important course in the series, this course begins to take a deeper dive into one focused subject.

Week 1 starts with the basics of networking. The training includes 15 videos (some with embedded questions), 5 reading assignments, 4 practice quizzes, some discussions and the weekly exam.

This week's topics include TCP/IP 5 layer network model, the OSI 7 layer networking model, cables and cabling, hubs, switches, routers, how data moves across the wire, network ports, patch panels and dissecting the ethernet frame.

This module is really dense with information and you may have to watch some videos twice and do some research on the networking models. Not as easy as the previous class, but it is the foundation to the rest of the Series.
Spend some additional time getting familiar with the concepts of networking.

Now that you have started the course, keep up with the assignments. Let me know your thoughts on the course or how I can improve this blog.

Good luck and much success.
