In true, free market capitalism, even the have-nots are richer than the haves in other systems. And communism requires only have-nots.

Communism alleviates have nots, it is, afterall, it's basic premise.

But you can't expect victims of the info war to know that.

Here is a book that explains the idea, if you read it.
It was not included in any public educations, nor most private ones, intentionally.

I am familiar with Kropotkin's work. I was once an anarcho-communist, and have since learned about economic laws and had to change my mind.

You should give this book a read, it is what made me see the light.
I couldn't figure out why the older anarchists were communist, and this purview allowed me to see why.

Looking Backwards by Ed Bellamy

I don't understand why you say communism requires only have-nots.

I'll see if I can explain it briefly and succinctly.

  1. Communism presumably allocates equal resources to all, regardless of how much each individual produces. It comes from a seemingly noble belief as expressed in the credo "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." The problem is in the application. It requires the most "able" or productive people in society to work extra in order to provide for the least able or productive, which may include vulnerable populations such as the elderly and ill, but also others such as the lazy and incompetent. If these more able/productive people get tired of working extra and not reaping the benefit of their extra work, (which, history and human nature shows us they will) then force must eventually be applied to get them to pull the weight of the rest of society. This results in decreased productivity as the able/productive people cut back on the effort they put into their work since they feel they are being unfairly rewarded, or that others are receiving the rewards of their work instead of them having ownership over the product of their own labor.

  2. Communism lacks a motivation factor to get people to produce. Basically, the majority of people are not satisfied to toil without receiving commensurate reward for their work and time. People do not invest resources into projects that improve life and society unless there is "something in it for them". And this is not a condition of modern western society, but a condition of human tendencies. In tribal societies, the best hunters often received the best cuts of meat. In capitalism, profit is the motivator. In communism, the motivator either does not exist at all, or it is an artificial thing imposed upon the economy to manipulate the actions of economic actors. Or, in the worst cases, the motivator is "produce or we'll kill you."

These are the main flaws in communism, and the reason why all large scale communist experiments have devolved into mass murder and starvation. Because communism has no mechanism for enticing people to voluntarily produce, nor any method of valuation of what is produced, any large scale communist societies will eventually become societies of only have-nots.
