To protect columnists from falling prey to false news stories, Google India on Tuesday said it will give preparing to 8,000 writers in English and six other Indian dialects in the following multi year.

For this, the Google News Initiative India Training Network will choose 200 columnists from urban communities crosswise over India who will sharpen their abilities in check and preparing amid five-day prepare the-coach training camps that will be sorted out for English and six other Indian dialects.

This system of guaranteed mentors will then prepare more writers at two-day, one-day and half-day workshops sorted out by the Network.

Preparing workshops will be directed in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Kannada in urban areas crosswise over India, Google India said in an announcement.

The focal point of the preparation will be certainty checking, online confirmation and advanced cleanliness for writers, utilizing an educational programs worked by specialists from First Draft, Storyful, AltNews, BoomLive, Factchecker.in and DataLeads.

"Supporting trusted, definitive media sources is a best need for Google, which is the reason we are glad to work together with Internews, DataLeads and BoomLive to help writers in their battle against falsehood in India," said Irene Jay Liu, Google News Lab Lead, Asia-Pacific.
