I was watching YouTube on my Fire TV today and when I was exiting, I saw this
I started digging around and then realized that Google had made an official statement about this.
“We’ve been trying to reach agreement with Amazon to give consumers access to each other's products and services. But Amazon doesn't carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, doesn't make Prime Video available for Google Cast users, and last month stopped selling some of Nest's latest products. Given this lack of reciprocity, we are no longer supporting YouTube on Echo Show and FireTV. We hope we can reach an agreement to resolve these issues soon.”
Although I am disappointed that I need to switch back to Chromecast or use the YouTube app on my Smart TV and have to go out of the comfort of just staying in my Fire TV, I think Google is right in doing this. Maybe I am biased with Google. What do you guys think? Is this declaration of war? :)
I think companies are missing the point - you make things harder for consumers, we will vote with our feet.

When companies fight, consumers lose. At some point, these companies should realize that. All the more reason to switch to a decentralized alternative to these companies.
