Do you know how to Google? Here are some useful tricks

in google •  8 years ago  (edited)

If you want to limit your search term to a specific website, simple put "site:yourwebsite.com" first

---

Wrapping your search phrase in quotation will search for exactly that phrase, spacing and position preserved

---

To limit your search results to a specific filetype, put "filetype:yourfiletype" before your search terms. Here's an effective way to find "The Power of Habit" in epub format. Master hackerman!

---

If you're searching for a phrase, but don't remember some of the words, use asterisks as placeholders. I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse.

---

Place a dash(-) before a search terms to exclude any results relate. In the example below, we don't want Google to show us android webpages. We just want those delicious lollipops

---

Especially useful for prices, put two dots(periods) between numbers to set a range

In fact, why not limit your TV shopping to a single website? Combine the first trick on this article with the trick above

---

Insert the "OR" operator between any two words, and Google will show results containing either one. In the example below, Google will show both results for "son of a bitch" and "son of a whore"

---

Well, that's it for now. If there's a lot of upvotes, I might do another. Have a good day everyone
