Starting in June, any ad that refers to virtual currencies will no longer appear on Google's search, Youtube, and other company services.
Also excluded are ads related to binary options and ICOs, which function as an IPO, but are performed with the issuance of crypto-coins in lieu of shares.
In January of this year, Facebook made a similar decision. The rationale for companies for a change in advertising policy is to protect users from misleading advertising.
Both Facebook and Google believe that ads are often unrealistic and linked to fraud schemes. The change should impact the market, as both companies control together between 60% and 70% of the online advertising market.
With the announcement, bitcoin further extended the losses. Around 1420 GMT, the most famous of the cripto-coins fell 8.7%, quoted at just over $ 8.3 thousand, according to the CoinDesk.
At the same time, ethereum fell 9.3% to $ 626.6, bitcoin cash had losses of 9.2%, to $ 970 and litecoin fell 7.4% to $ 162.8.
Cool, following you. Whats your current favorite coin/token?
