Google Pay, Paytm, and more to enable credit card transactions on UPI
BharatPe, Google Pay, Razorpay, Paytm, PayU, and Pine Labs have agreed to allow users to make payments using credit cards, which was not an option until now.
NPCI has enabled credit card transactions on the UPI platform.
The latest decision comes just days after RBI facilitated RuPay credit cards to UPI.
It is unknown when the latest update will be visible in the UPI-based apps.
By Ankita Garg: In a move that is set to transform the way people make payments on the UPI, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in partnership with payment aggregators has enabled credit card transactions on the platform. This will give users more options to make UPI payments more seamlessly, and help those who prefer to use a credit card for online transactions. It is unknown when the latest update will be visible in the UPI-based apps.
The latest decision comes just days after RBI facilitated RuPay credit cards to UPI. BharatPe, Cashfree Payments, Google Pay, Razorpay, Paytm, PayU, and Pine Labs have agreed to allow users to make payments using credit cards, which was not an option until now, according to a report from Business Today. The move will also help users enjoy the benefits of short-term credit and rewards offered by credit cards.
