Google will close its Google+ from next April 2nd. The confirmation came directly with an email sent to all users who are currently in possession of a social network account. The platform, we have seen, will close forever because of problems related to maintaining a successful product that meets consumer expectations. On Google+ few seem to be the users who spend time every day and moreover some security issues have raised alarm among users and professionals who therefore preferred to close the entire portal.

Google+: what to do before it is closed

The date of April 2 is approaching and at that time all users still in possession of a profile will have, if interested, have made a backup of photos or data disclosed in their posts before Google proceeds to the total elimination of the system. All pages will be completely deleted and the social network will no longer be accessible by users in any way.

Google notes that the process of deleting all data may take several months and that the content "may remain" until now. "Users can still see parts of their Google+ account through the activity log and some consumer Google+ content may remain visible to G Suite users until the Google+ user is deleted," they said in an email to users.

Clearly the Mountain View company will allow before this date to download and save all content. In this case it will be necessary to proceed according to the directives externalized by Google in this page of support. Specifically users will have to:

Go to the Download your data page after logging in to Google+.
Deselect the Google+ information that you do not want to include in the Offloaded download.
Click Next.
Choose a file type.
Choose how you want to receive data.
Click Create Archive.
Nothing could be simpler and safer. In this case, Google also allows you to permanently delete the account before April 2nd. The procedure also for this operation is simple and immediate:

To delete your Google+ profile at any time: go to http://plus.google.com/downgrade, sign in and follow the instructions on the page. If you see an upgrade page, it means you do not have a Google+ profile.
Important to know that deleting your Google+ profile does not alter any other Google product like Search, Gmail, and your Google Account. The deletion of the Google+ profile is final.

Google+: what happens to the contents?
Google already no longer allows us to create a new profile on Google+ as it is not possible to create events, communities or even pages. All those who are in possession or result as moderators of any page, community or other can download and save community data before April 2nd. In addition, from the beginning of March 2019, additional data will be available for download, including author, body and photo for each community post in a public community.

All those who use the blogging tool of Google Blogger will begin to see the comments left by users of Google+ disappear from today. Comments on all sites will be permanently deleted starting April 2nd. Other users, such as G Suite customers and developers who use the platform APIs, can find out more about what it means to shut down for them by going to the developer site.
