Testing out my new GoPro and my thoughts on HitFilm Express

Testing out my new GoPro on a trip to the playground by the waterfront.

I was using VSDC Video Editor for the last little while to make videos. It works alright but I was having a problem previewing anything in the program. This made it hard to do any good transitions or any detailed effects without the ability to preview before the long exporting process. I do like their video capture program for capturing my drawings on photoshop/illustrator though.

Since I just got this new GoPro, I figured I'd be doing some more videos so I searched for a better program and found HitFilm Express. This program seems way better. Not only does the preview work really well, but there are a lot more effects you can add to give the video a personalized touch.

I didn't get too into it last night, but I was able to put this video together pretty quickly with no prior experience.

For a free program, they have a very in-depth YouTube Channel with all kinds of great tutorials for both beginners and more experienced users. I think I'm going to try the light saber tutorial next and see if I can't get my son waving one around.

Enjoy!

I just got a GoPro and wanted to know if you are still using this program for editing your videos? I see it's been 3 months since you posted but I found this in the steemit search.

Yeah I sure am. Nothing recently but I still use it. The programs that come with the go pro just don't seem to cut it but hitfilm works great and there are lots of effects you can do with it that are really easy once you know how.

Shoot I can't even seem to get a video from my GoPro to upload to Dtube. Good to hear you like it. Hopefully I can get some videos worth messing around with on hitfilm. Thanks for the response.
Any advise on getting the GoPro videos to upload to Dtube would be greatly appreciated.

I had that issue too. I think it's the size of the video. I think my videos are around 1gb from hitfilm but I downloaded the identically video from YouTube and that was around 250mb and it uploaded no problem.

I'm using handbrake to compress the video down to about 260mb but after a while of Dtube spinning it's wheels it says "error failed to fetch". I will keep messin around and see if I can get this thing handled.
