DIVINE AGENDA
“And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.” (Luke 5: 10)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
When Peter received the miracle of the multitude of fishes, Jesus unveiled a strategic purpose which transcended the miracle Peter just received. Jesus said to Peter, “…from henceforth you will catch men”. Jesus’ agenda for Peter was bigger than mere fishes; His agenda for Peter was for Peter to catch men.
Anyone who received such a large haul of fishes should have been thinking of how to sell or even preserve the fishes, but that was when Jesus revealed an agenda that would supersede Peter’s miracle. Peter's miracle simply pointed him to God’s purpose. The miracle was a wrapping sheet for divine agenda.
Friend, for every miracle that God brings your way, ask Him to reveal His divine agenda for your life. For every open door God brings your way, remember, there is a divine purpose beyond the open door; there is a divine purpose for the success that has already come your way or is coming your way; there is a divine agenda for the heavy harvest that Jesus will make happen in your life this year. There is a divine agenda for your life beyond whatsoever God does for you.
Peter switched focus to Jesus’ agenda, and the same Peter later went on to become the arrow head of the early church. Beyond celebrating your heavy harvest, if you pay attention to divine agenda, God will usher you into higher realms of greatness and relevance you may not have planned or prepared for.
No matter how heavy your harvest is this year, never forget, there is a divine agenda in the heart of the Master, and happy are you if you fulfill that agenda.
Declare With Me: Beyond my heavy harvest, my priority is God’s agenda, in Jesus’ name!
My priority is God...amen
