Why I am Proud to be a Libertarian!

I've never been so proud of being a member of the Libertarian Party as I was this past weekend! In case you missed it, please ask others about it. I saw two amazing and wonderful things you would never have seen with the
(R)s and (D)s. Stephen Quinn (Pronounced like Stephen with a -eh- sound not like Steven with an -eeeeee- sound) came to the registration table Friday evening. He is a tall lanky guy whose shoulder length hair had been given no particular direction in which to go. His clothes are typical of a guy in college, with many obligatory wrinkles. He informed me he was running for Governor and ready to sign in.

What happened next was nothing less than stunning and I can't stop bragging to everyone that will listen about how amazing this was. The party leadership wrapped their arms around this guy. They asked if he had a room, finding out he didn't have one, got him settled in a place to room. They welcomed him and made him a welcomed part of the process of convention. He was given equal time with other gubernatorial candidates on stage, given a voice at a State Political party convention. Thank you Jon Mohler and Michael Sweeney for being amazing leaders in a day when real leaders in politics are far and few in between. Today's normal politician is only looking for him or herself. These guys are the real deal!

All of this alone would have been incredible, however, when Stephen (remember, with an -eh-) opened his mouth to speak.... He was a genuinely compelling and passionate speaker! He is a natural born orator and didn't even know it! He has cadence and inflection, flavored with passion and youthful enthusiasm. He later apologized, saying he knew he was 'choking', as in, not doing well. What I want him to hear from the bottom of my heart is that we were ALL listening! You did what seasoned politicians can't do well even with a teleprompter and a professional speech writer. You had captivated the audience! Anyone I spoke to later all felt the same way.

I want to thank everyone that made Stephen feel welcomed.

The other thing that happened was one of the incoming CentCom Members had just graduated high school 4 days ago. Jason Coblantz was voted in as a standing member for District 6 and is eager to work to reach his District. Both of these guys are not the future of the Libertarian Party. They ARE the CURRENT Libertarian Party. Thank you both for giving me a hope for the future by serving today!

Now let's get petition signatures and GOTV by registering everyone we meet that is eligible to vote - get our Candidates votes!!!!
