‘Infanticide’ Va. Gov. Northam accepted nearly $2 million from Planned Parenthood

KEEP in mind that the donations planned parenthood gives to candidates and cause is tax payer money!

When Democrat pediatrician Ralph Northam decided to run for the governor of Virginia in 2017, he wasn’t going to be alone: Planned Parenthood pledged to accompany him on his journey.

It’s really clear that Virginians want and need a fierce champion like Dr. Northam to stand up for them and to stand up for women’s health,” Jennifer Allen, chief executive of Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, noted as she announced that abortion supporters would spend up to $3 million to elect Northam, who also served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, The Washington Post reported at the time.

True to her word, Planned Parenthood poured $1.99 million into Northam’s campaign, according to The Virginia Public Access Project, after praising the children’s doctor for taking “bold actions” to support abortion.

So. Gov. Northam got $2 mil from Planned Parenthood. That's real money. Most politicians wouldn't walk away from people who gave them that kind of money unless they did something truly evil like ask you to promote infanticide. Some, not even then. @GovernorVA #RalphNortham

David Abrams, a spokesman for Republican Ed Gillespie, referred to Northam during the campaign as having “extreme positions supporting abortions in the eighth or ninth month.”

And on cue this week, Northam has come under fire by conservatives and pro-life advocates for his ‘extreme position’ of ‘supporting abortions’ right up until a woman is full-term.

Deal: Level IIIA Vests and Ballistic Plates at Unbeatable Prices!

“This morning on WTOP’s ‘Ask The Governor,” Virginia governor Ralph Northam defended the new abortion bill introduced by state Democrats this month, the Repeal Act, which would legalize abortion up to the point of birth,” National Review Online reported Wednesday.

The bill’s chief sponsor is Del. Kathy Tran (D). According to her legislation, if approved and signed into law by Northam, women would be able to receive an abortion up to, but right before, natural full-term delivery.

The WTOP host asked Northam if he agreed with the language and premise of Tran’s bill. He said:

This is why decisions such as this should be made by providers, physicians, and the mothers and fathers that are involved. When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother, with the consent of the physician — more than one physician, by the way — and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities. There may be a fetus that’s non-viable.

He wasn’t done.

“If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen,” he continued. “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

In other words, the medical facility would keep the baby “comfortable” until the mother and abortion doctor decided what to do next, which directly implies that the result might be ending the baby’s life.

National Review noted that either Northam isn’t fully aware of what Tran’s bill says or he’s being intentionally dishonest about it. The legislation specifically removes a current requirement that there are three doctors who must agree a woman must have a late-term abortion for her health.

Under a provision in Tran’s bill, only the consent of the mother and the abortion physician would be required. And in fact, she noted during an Assembly hearing on her bill that yes, it included abortions in mothers who are full-term.

Northam’s full-throated support for this monstrosity of a bill — similar to one that has already passed in New York — makes much more sense.
