Mayor of Banda Aceh Aminullah Usman and Aceh Deputy Governor Nova Iriansyah staged the first stone to rebuild the Baitul Mukminin Mosque, Gampong Lamteh, Wednesday (3/12/2018).
Mayor Aminullah in his speech said it welcomes the rebuilding of Baitul Mukminin Mosque considering the increasingly limited capacity of the congregation. "Because of its strategic location, Baitul Mukminin becomes an alternative mosque for city residents and tourists who come to Banda Aceh."
With regard to development funding, Aminullah mentioned the participation of all Lamteh residents. "People must be at the forefront, then new Pemko, Aceh Government, we even try from the state budget. For the initial stage we have budgeted Rp 400 million for the construction of this mosque, "said the mayor greeted applause attendance.
He also expects bantuna from companies with his CSR funds and other non-binding donors. "The committee must also all out in collecting for the mosque pride of Lamteh society is quickly completed its construction," said the mayor while inviting all parties to contribute the funds although the value is a little.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Mosque Development Committee Baitul Mukminin Ilyas Nyak Tuy explained some considerations until finally the gampong and community Lamteh decided to rebuild the 28-year-old mosque.
"Currently the mosque building is so low from the road body, and after the earthquake in 2004 the structure of the building has also been weakened. In addition, the location of the mosque is very strategic because it is located on the edge of the highway so that many pilgrims both from within and outside the city who worship here, "he said.
The new mosque is planned to be built with an area of 1450 square meters that can accommodate approximately 1,200 worshipers. "If the current building is only able to accommodate 700 worshipers. We plan to build gradually with total funding required of Rp 10.5 billion, "he said again.
"For that we appeal to Mr. Vice Governor and Mr. Wali in order to assist the construction of Baitul Mukminin Mosque. The new fund is available for Rp 753 million from donations from the community, donors, and Pemko Banda Aceh, "explained Ilyas, who on that occasion also submitted the funding proposal to the Vice Governor and the mayor.
Also attending the groundbreaking mosque located on Jalan Prof Ali Hasyimi include the Chairman of DPRK Banda Aceh Arif Fadillah along with a number of board members, Head of Aceh Munawar A Djalil, and officials within Pemko Banda Aceh.
