There's "my government" and there's "your government", there is no "our government".
My government is me. It is not political. It is not a State. I don't share it with anyone else, I don't impose it on anyone else, nor do I accept anyone else's government as my own.
Your government is you-- even if you don't recognize yourself as such. Even if you imagine you have a spare government lying around somewhere. A political government. Your government has no hold on me or anyone else.
Every time someone says "our government" it is a lie. The lie may be calculated to manipulate-- to hypnotize you. Don't fall for it.
Now, maybe you believe you share a government with someone else. I hope not, but people believe weird things. In that case, you'd need to have a conversation with the other person before you started flinging around the words "our government" to see if you truly do share a government of some sort with them. But don't assume. It's rude at best, and a dangerous lie at worst.

i like your government... it would be a shame if someone were to come and take it over...
A great deal of the rhetoric about "our govern-cement" comes about because they do not want to call their tyranny out for what it is.
We have to help the poor (meaning them)
When i can barely afford my needs.
We have to help the children (meaning help them)
When their rhetoric falls apart under any scrutiny.
(the only children in govern-cement schools will be the poor and orphaned)
So, "we" aren't really having an open and honest conversation.
We have one group, that pretty much wants to be left alone
and another group that wants the first group to pay for everything.

Interesting perspective, so we shall all be our own autocratic rulers?
I don't think anyone can argue that all forms of government poorly represent it's constituency, especially a government that is touted as being for the people by the people. At the same token no man is an island is an undeniable truth as we have no choice but to coexist. No one man is capable of being self sufficient. Sure one can likely provide the means to squeeze out a modest existence alone but a one man army makes for an easy autocracy to topple..
My last post actually vaguely tackles the issue of controlling bodies and not surprisingly is an enigma that has been part of the human experience long before the kingdoms of Mesopotamia arose.
A mind and body wired for survival has an innate primordial inclination towards exclusion and seeing itself as a, separate and unique entity unto itself. This is paradoxically intertwined within a biological framework that has simultaneously led humans to become social beings. The logical progression for social mammals is of course to attempt to forge order and organization.
This is part of our collective evolution.. In the big picture it wasn't long ago that we as a species were engaged in tribalism. Technology has forced us to grow from the confines of geographical constraints. We now live together in an interconnected world but being such a new concept the entrenched cultures that thrived on nationalism are unable to evolve into a new paradigm where borders and maritime law aren't sufficiently structured to facilitate order and organization..
As long as separatism is part of our core beliefs system we will struggle not only amongst ourselves but within nature itself. Us and them, or in this case, you, me, and them is a dead devolved illusion bred out of fear and unwillingness to identify as both an individual and a part of the hive..
There is room enough for all ideas here and collaboration is key. Autocracy whether organized into self governance or communal ideologies is a road to nowhere in my humble opinion..

"for the people by the people" is one of the biggest lies. As long as they can make you believe YOU are the (political) government, you'll stop noticing its crimes. Governments are not for the people. They are for a subset of the people. Governments are not "by the people". If they were, they wouldn't be violating the people for the power and control of that government. Governments are for government and for wealth and power, and by government elites.
"no man is an island... No one man is capable of being self sufficient"
Who is suggesting otherwise? Not me. I am all for cooperation. Government is the opposite of cooperation. It is coercion at the barrel of a gun. If you have rejected consent, you have rejected cooperation. And if you advocate statism you are rejecting consent.
"to attempt to forge order and organization" Again, this has zero to do with political government, which are commonly guilty of imposing too much order and organized oppression. No thanks.
"...it wasn't long ago that we as a species were engaged in tribalism". Humans are still tribal. Politics, "school spirit", and sportsball are current examples. Tribalism isn't harmful until you impose a winner-takes-all state. Until you add politics to the mix.
