Governments never give up power once they have it.

Governments in supposedly “free” countries around the world are becoming increasingly authoritarian and drunk with power. Who are they really working for? Certainly not for the people or the welfare of the nation.

This is a war of PRIDE. Pride of the government in controlling the first round of COVID19, pride of the citizens in an adolescent definition of freedom.

REAL freedom is freedom from the extractive, oppressive economic control of the elite class, freedom from pollution, freedom from hunger, freedom from fear, freedom to enjoy Nature without destroying it, and freedom from your super spreader neighbor killing and maiming your family members.

Letting the virus run free means culling the population of the old, fat, sick, sugar indulging, grain fed and compromised immune systems, leaving behind an unknown number of people with chronic conditions and possibly returning again and again as this is a NOVEL virus and term of immunity is unknown. High viral loading from normal body contact and close face to face conversation raises the death toll and overwhelms health care systems, and there are many case histories of young, healthy individuals dying and being crippled and WE DON'T KNOW WHY - but it may be simply from initial dose or body entry point, in which case all the precautions are justified.

Sweden is far less dense, the culture has far more distancing, far more body awareness, far better diet and far better pro-active universal health system. I don't think you can name and compare to the US which has not locked down far more effectively than us and has better numbers. Rather, we are more like Australia and England in bending the rules, normal gathering, and body contact.

We know that China's numbers are far worse than reported, which is why they still won't let WHO in. They have to cover up possibly tens of millions of deaths. They beat the virus back with "draconian measures" on this level, but are still seeing localized clusters. Since their elite depends on the economy, we can be sure they are calculating their response to optimize production, export and consumption. CCP may be evil, but they are not dumb. That is why I think their model was the most informative.

Pride is also why the US is ignoring other national case histories at the HHS level. I don't hear the Virus Task Force talking about Iceland, Norway, New Zealand or Vietnam, or asking Italy what they learned. Instead, we get dead pan idiot Pence and the Clown Prince of Orange tweets. HHS is now "cooking" the statistics to try and deceive the American sheeple that the infection is under control, their kids can go to school with no harm done, and the economy is coming back any day now.
