As I was taking a walk the other day, I passed by nearly three dumping sites where people have thrown waste materials some of which have chemicals on the soil. Most countries are heavily dependent on agricultural activities which is why we should all be careful to ensure the protection of the soil in which these plants grow. Human activities are once again the key causes of soil pollution but there are also natural processes that cause the same.
Soil pollution refers to anything that contaminates the soil and degrades its quality. These contaminants adversely affect the soil quality and make it impossible for microorganisms and microorganisms to live in the soil. Human activities have led to the presence of excess amounts of pesticides, herbicides, ammonia, petroleum hydrocarbons, lead, nitrate and many other chemicals in the soil.
