One of the mysteries that has the ability to deliver us from this typical pressure cooker kind of religion that dictates to us how much of perfection we ought to obtain in order for us to meet God's standard, is the fact that nobody under any kind of deftness or ability can meet the righteous standards of an eternal self existent God. No, not one.
You may not be far from the truth if you made a logical inference that, for a law to exist it presupposes that there is an intended standard or mark that a man is somewhat required to reach . But that glimmer of hope and possibility for mortal men who are intrinsically disabled by sin in attempting to hit that mark begins to loose it’s fervor and gas the very second we begin to unveil the very gist of what the law was intended to represent as put forth by Apostle Paul in Romans 5:20 which reads that the Law was initiated in order for fallen men to know how sinful they were. To point further, the law's mandate intrinsically was to become an educational prelude to the subject matter of Grace which is, that which gives ability to a known disability(in this case man being the one who is intrinsically disabled by sin). The law's crux was to point us to how wounded and wretched we were in every attempt to become righteous as God.
Intriguing to note that, the ultimate work of grace was unveiled in our efforts of desperation to meet the righteous standard of God . Romans 5:20 continues to say that , where there was much sin, much grace was equally and abundantly triggered not just as a quick fix for sin but as an eternal antidote to the poison of sin emanating from within the very nucleus of man's existence. Through Apostle Paul’s teaching on grace, it becomes even more crystal clear that righteousness as it relates to the nature of an eternal monarch undoubtedly begins to take center stage in a believers life only through the agency of grace as afforded us by the eternal sacrifice of Jesus Christ as explained in (Romans 5:21). As simple as; ''He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him''(2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV).
Jesus took upon Himself the intrinsic sin problem of man and disintegrated it together with its effects and debt it had incurred on man never to be seen again. By so doing, the full ecosystem of Grace was unleashed, so that anyone who was and is willing enough to receive and believe on His name has automatic access to be called the righteousness of God(Romans 3:22). When a God becomes what He hates so He can save those He loves then you know that Grace is not something to be toyed with or taken lightly.
(2 Corinthians 5:17 ) explains perfectly that when a man decides to buy into this commodity of Grace that Christ purchased by His blood, that man instantly becomes a new creation as though he was never born. He breaks out of the rat race of always trying to hit the mark of perfection by self effort and begins to rest in the righteousness of God by Grace . That is what the Apostle Paul calls the new creation . The new creation is a man of rest. He is a man who cruises on an eternal sabbath. Such a new man doesn’t just apply grace to his sin, no! Grace is what keeps him from sin. "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,"(Titus 2:11-12 NIV).Today may we unashamedly embrace our own inefficiencies knowing that in them the strength, righteousness and grace of God are made manifest.
