We are almost in the midst of May and three weeks more to go, it will be June, the start of classes here in the Philippines. I wanted to share with the students then some tips on how to make good grades. You see this matters a lot especially when you will be applying for a job. I graduated magna cum laude in college and it helps me a lot especially so that when you graduate with honors, you will automatically become a civil service eligible qualifying you to permanent positions in the government.
Making good grades is one factor why students come up burning their midnight candles. But as much as you wanted to excel, you cannot deny that around you are baits trying to grab your attention away from your lessons especially now with the taking off of smart phones and other information systems. As such, you need to be quick and determined to prioritize your studies no matter how enticing those temptations are.
Yes, making good grades are not some kind of a magic. You need to work hard and be diligent in attending to your classes, doing your assignments and studying by heart. A lot of times, we only made ourselves busy studying, as I have experienced it too before, the night before an examination is scheduled. How about if it's unannounced and you failed to go over the pages of your notebooks, or laptops, since we are now in the computer age?Could your parents expect high scores from you? I doubt. But if you find time meditating and understand your lessons, it is a guarantee that it will remain in your mindset.
Furthermore, do not allow yourself to become slaves of your emotions., Yes feeling bored, tired, having anxieties and problems are inevitable but never allow them to disturb your academic timetable. There is a time for everything, for every season, so to speak. Deal with them in a separate time and forget them when you are in the classroom.
Above all, never forget to pray. Ask the Lord for guidance. As what Napoleon said, "Prayer is the key with which one may open the doorway to success" and it really works.
