I remember being a kid and watching the Grammy’s, I remember thinking “Those people are so awesome!”
Fast forward to 37, and I feel like I’m watching a bunch of highly paid, glorified, zoo animals.
I can’t take anything away from them, I mean these people are really talented, but I understand some of their frustrations in life. I thought it was Michael Jackson who said he felt like a zoo animal, maybe Justin Bieber said it too.
I can understand the feeling of depression one may get when a mob of teens and young adults rush them in order to get that picture, only for the celebrity to realize that those fans don’t care about them, they’re more about themselves. Posting those pics on their Facebook and Instagram accounts with the caption (look who I’m with! Look at me! Look at me!)
I would feel lonely too, I mean it must be a chore to have to distinguish the difference between the people who really care about you, opposed to who you are. So I now watch with pity rather than envy, I now understand why the money and fame may not be all it’s cracked up to be. Getting famous now means you need to use your wealth to get privacy. Wow! What a catch 22
