This All Started As A Pencil Sketch - This photo below was the initial sketch in my sketchbook.
Eventually, I came back to the idea and decided to 'digitalize' it. I use a Wacom Intous tablet and have several digital painting programs, so I felt that this concept deserved to come alive.
After changing the orientation of the text and creating a rough concept in a digital form, I decided to change the overall shape a bit - it seemed misshapen to me and did not look right. I condensed the width a bit.
I played with a few color schemes and explored variations. Then I cleaned up some of the line work and made another variation
I added some highlights and shading, then landed with this image above. I would not consider it a 'finished' work, but rather a concept that I enjoyed playing with. It was one of my first digital painting attempts and I learned that it is not a strength of mine 😆

Thanks, @jbgarrison72. Yea, the Intuous 4 is a beast. It's not the newest, greatest tablet - but it can do more than I could ever figure out how to use 😆
It's strange to get used to drawing this way - pen pressure is, well..digitized and very sensitive. I love to work with mediums of all sorts, but there's nothing like hand created work (ink, pencil, paint).
