My girlfriend and I just recently returned from our weekend trip to New Orleans to see the Dead and Company in concert. It will go down as one of the most profound and spiritually uplifting experiences in my life to date.
With all the useless political theater, war, censorship, and deceit going on in the world, it was nice to get away and be around some loving people for a change!

I confess, this was my first experience at the hippie thing and I wasn't sure what to expect, so I told myself going into it not to have ANY expectations and just go with the flow. Let's just say they made a follower out of me.
Not only did I see some of the most talented craftsmanship and artwork in my life, but I saw a group of people who are living their lives as burden-free as they can. They support each other, share with one another, and connect through the love of music.
Plus, they really know how to party...

Sometimes when we are so bothered by what's going on in the world, all it takes is seeing life from another perspective to balance it out.

Excellent stuff my friend .. I was only listening to Uncle Johns band a couple of days back.

They played it during the show! It was such a powerful set list. They also played Peggy O, Ship of Fools, Fire on the Mountain and of course Truckin'. It was New Orleans, they had to...lol

Very nice, I'm glad you had a good time .. it's important to kick back every once in a while.
