Does success give happiness or happiness lead to ?
One tends to believe that happiness is a consequence of success and accomplishments in life. That is not so. The research of the last decades has shown that emotions, mood, in short, the level of personal happiness play a central role in the life of the person.
Researchers such as Sonia Lyubomirsky, Ed Diener, Laura King, have demonstrated, by collecting data on hundreds of thousands of people, that positive moods push us to be more active, to work towards new goals and to build new resources. This translates into the possibility of experiencing gratification and success.
It is clear that the internally more vital person, who tends to be happy, is more likely to achieve favourable living conditions, to have satisfactory relations, incomes and conditions. Not only that, physical health and longevity also seem to be related to basic positive emotions.
The well-being of each person is associated with a positive perception of self and others, a creative self-expression and a good openness to the outside world.
It can be concluded that happiness is not simply the consequence of positive events but, on the contrary, it is the internal condition that generates and produces success, results and rewarding conditions.
