Overgrown graves.

Today I went around an old graveyard I've driven past many times a few villages over from where I live. With an hour to spare I decided I'd finally have a look around and found many of the older graves were returning into the earth showing not even a gravestone will stand the test of time.

Also in the graveyard was a stone erected to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, the oak tree that was also planted to mark the event though seems to be long gone but the stone remains.

I have never experienced a close family of mine passing away. I have never had to grieve a death and I am truly grateful for that. I wonder what lives were like for these people before they left us.

Amazing photographs, @alienbutt. These graves have really become one with nature.

Hey bro, you again prove that "old is gold". Your photography also mean that like me.
Thanks for the great shots on this gravest photography showing us.

The time and the nature. Simply natural and awesome, even on a graveyard.

I love to explore graveyards and research the histories. Have stopped at many.

Wow 121 year old stone marker. You should send a picture to the queen, she would probably have the whole graveyard cleaned up and looking nice again in no time. People like numbers she could have a new marker placed next to it 121 years and 121 days after the erection (she will love that word ;-} ), I Queen Elizabeth re-dedicate this hallowed ground. You could become even more famous.

I don't think the queen would be that bothered, I think there would be many such marker in the older graveyards.

Ancient grave thanks dear for sharing
