1936: Former Prime Minister of Greece, Eleftherios Venizelos dies.

1926: The Academy of Athens is founded.

1991: Charilaos Florakis steps down from his leadership role of the Coalition of the Left and Progress. He is succeeded by Maria Damanaki.

2012: Evangelos Venizelos is elected president of PASOK.
