Συνήθως ήταν κάθετες και πάντα σε ανοιχτούς χώρους για να δίνουν την αίσθηση μεγαλοπρέπειας και επιβλητικότητας.. Κάπως έτσι φαίνονται και στην παραπάνω φωτογραφία...
