Clean Monday, a festive day where family and friends a re gathered to have dinner all together. Are there any Greek festive days or celebrations that are not accompanied with food consumption? Well, no. In every family gathering large quantities of food are always present.
Clean Monday has got its name clean because it is not allowed to consume meat of any kind by tradition. This of course means time for sea food calamari, octopus and loads of fries. Other interesting foods are fish egg salad called "Taramosalata" and a type of bean paste called "Fava". Traditional restaurants called "Taverns" are pact to the brim with people eating "clean" foods. So reservations to these places are a must, i will make mine right after this post.
So what are you waiting for, make your reservation as fast as possible or there might be no place to enjoy this fest!
