These days, and especially the clean Monday in my city of Kalamata, there is a flying hot-air balloon tradition.
This year I decided to construct one, so I bought the necessary materials and I started the job.
The handmade hot-air balloon which I constructed has dimensions of 2 m in width and about 5.5 m in height.
Let's see step-by-step how to construct it and we go to the "moon".
The materials used are:
- 32 paper pieces 0.7m x 1m.
- Instant glue
- A reed
- Wire
- Cloth
- Petroleum
We connect the pieces of paper with glue so we can make a rocket shape.
We slash a reed and make a hoop for the base.
We strap with wire in a cross shape.
We sew the hoop with the paper
At the center we place a piece of cloth with petroleum.
After firing in a barrel we place the hot-air balloon over and when it inflates enough is ready to fly up(to the moon).
The hot-air balloon can fly for several miles, we follow it though fallen into the clean place, we catch it and we can fly again.
This particular traveled quite miles but sadly fallen in the sea.
