Officially Farming My Own Food, Taking Good Care of Strawberries

Hi, Steemheads!

First of all, I do not have green thumb but I will really do my best to learn farming because I want to know how it feels like to farm and farmers are really underappreciated. I want to relate to what they do and be able to communicate with them better and understanding their perspective specially that we plan to adopt a farming community of Indigenous Peoples like what I have been sharing in these series of posts.

Yesterday, a neighbor posted about his strawberries and that he is selling them as seedlings for 50 and 100 pesos because there are 2 varities, a Japanese Shoga variety and another one called Sweet Charlie. I did not know strawberries could grow here because the Philippines is a tropical country and strawberries grow in colder climates. We are neighbors just 3 blocks apart, I was so curious because we are not even on a hill or something, we are in a coastal area on a flat land.

The deal was cheap, 50 pesos is just 1 USD and the seedlings he said were actually already big plants. I will be asking him more often of how to take care of it, I am so excited. I bought some and will be setting them up tomorrow to have a place where it could get enough sunlight and I will make sure I water them twice a day.
