Steem Witness Forum on GREEN HOUSE RADIO ONLINE 5/10/2020 notes

While it was a light turn out for our attempt to rally steemit together, we did manage to have a good interaction over the topic of ABUSE on the steemit platform.

While many issues can be considered abuse, a few of the questions raised by people like @jonyoudyer, host of the Forum and Co-Founder of @Canna-Curate, were of the following nature.

WHAT IS ABUSE?

Bid bots were mentioned.

The idea that they should be involved or allowed moving forward was questioned.
There seemed to mixed feelings about this just about 50/50 . Some feel there is obvious abuse about the "pay to play" or paying for upvotes on content. It is seen as illegitimate earnings.
Others see bid bots a promotional or investment tool to help make otherwise low viewed posts more apt to receive attention.

Cross posting /cross platform stake use

Is cross posting or using stake (steem) to downvote or vote farm as a form of abuse?
There is concern about some keeping stake on either platform just to maliciously effect the earnings or stake of content creators they do not agree with is indeed being done.
How do we get this type of behavior to cease? Is there any actual chance of achieving this?

Disabled witness spots

Do we have to wait out the powerdown to have zero vesting before we will see any real change? Should they be 'removed' from these spots in some way? How can we get these stale non block producers to move on and allow others to fill these spots?

Non compliance to get a version accepted by witnesses

Since 22.88 is there a plan to fork back to 22.5 or a is there a hard fork in the works moving forward?

"Push a hardfork to secure the chain from witness's running different versions" was one comment

While there are still unanswered questions about the state of our beloved platform, it is highly encouraging to hear other people's opinions and ideas of how we can move forward. We love seeing new faces attend. Please feel free to join us sometime and share your voice.

Plans for the next Sunday Forum are for the 24th of May.

Please use the following Guidelines so we all will have a pleasant experience... Thank you!

Communication requires a conscious perception of the value of each word, which together in a sentence results in a unique energy. This verbally expressed energy is received and processed differently by each and everyone.

That contributes to a large extent to the fact that misunderstandings can arise, which can then lead to excessive demands on the participants in the conversation. This excessive demand shows itself often in absurd, irrelevant expressions, which are then, by some, unconsciously interpreted as an insult.

To have the "civilized" Conversation we're all looking for, please:

  • Respect Your Nature!
  • Be Impeccable With Your Own Word!
  • Handle Everything From A Neutral Point!
  • Be Sincere / Honest!
  • Find Truth By Asking Kindly!
  • Always Give Your Best To One And All!

Thanks for being awesome! Thanks for your support! And thanks for listening to the Green House Radio Online!

Stay tuned 😎 and have an excellent time! CU around over at Canna-Curate!

A special "Thank You" to @steemitblog and @steemcurator01 for helping spread our effort to so many. It has been very encouraging to see all the positive reply.

Thank You BroSir! Will get that into the next post.

I'm so glad someone is looking at the topic of using their Steem Power maliciously to down-vote users they disagree with. I believe voting or down-voting apparatus is supposed to be used based on the post or comment itself. Not because of who posted it but rather what was posted.

There is a phenomenon of getting on a "downvote user" list, where whatever content you add, you will get down-voted. This is a long standing issue. The down-votes were supposed to allow owners of Steem Power to police others, but then who polices those making the down-votes?

The new owner of Steemit knows what it is like to get down-votes on her/his post when it is really born out of animosity against the user.

Yes. It has been a sore spot for a lot of content creators to be the target of downvoting in order to effectively negate earnings. I personally was against the idea of downvoting and feel it is the mature thing to just ignore content one does not like.
Thank You for sharing your opinion and feel free to join us for a LIVE interaction on the next FORUM, or anytime.

This is no time to bite the bullet with our compatible transitional options.

Which bullet would that be?

We are on the right path. Getting the conversation going is happening. Trying to come together and make everyone a winner.

Agreed. Keep up the good fight . #SteemOn

Thank you for these notes. Sorry we couldn't get along to the forum.

Is there any recording as well?

The Steemit Team

No, I was not able to record this episode. Sorry. I hope to resume full production of recordings as soon as I can get my main computer repaired. Currently I plan on trying to take more detailed notes to have a record. Thank You Steemit Team.

No problem.

Tag @steemcurator01 when you put out a post about the next forum.

Thank you
