About a year ago, when Steem was worth around $8 there was this Giant Steemit Whale named @Greenman
He had made a good amount from investing early into Bitcoin and he invested hundreds of thousands into Steem.
He was travelling the world and found a way to help people by converting Steem to a local currency and was randomly handing out $$$ to those in need.
I would send him 2 Steem and he would convert to local currency and provide local street vendors and artisans with enough funds to feed their families for a month. He would include photos of himself handing them $$ in impoverished areas all over the World.
In return he would Upvote my posts with about 20 Steem as a reward for sending the 2 Steem for him to distribute... so I would get 10x or more for my 2Steem.
Sometimes I would get 100 Steem Upvote on my Photography and Digital Art.
Unfortunately He got into a giant flag war with another famous Whale and left Steemit.
Maybe I don’t know the whole flagging story but I thought he had a great concept of using Steem to help those in need and in return reward those who would give to such a Charitable Project. I’m sure this Concept could be repeated on larger scale. If only I had a few Million Steem to reward those who are willing to give to the Poor.
It Would be great if we could get @Greenman to come back.
This Entrepreneur had found a concrete way to use Steem as a way to help the Poor in this World. It was sad to see him forced off of Steemit.
Why do we let this happen ?
Update: Looks like he is coming back. I see he is Powering back up.
He's not the only whale who left :(

Yeah ... but he was extremely generous with his upvotes. A great Patron of the Artists here on Steemit.

He's a very shrewd Investor. And probably Incredibly Lucky. Being forced to Sell all your Steem at $8 was not a bad thing .... His timing is impeccable .... and now, it looks like he has Returned .... at least he has started to buy Steem and Power up. I have been encouraging him to come back for a few weeks. Maybe the 20 cent price of Steem was too much to pass up. He has already made another 70 % on his recent investment in Steem. The guy is a Genius.
