Greenshift 027: Opening Up The Floor

in greenshift •  6 years ago

So, we haven't done a brainstorming post in a long while so I thought I would open up the floor to some discussion about potential directions this project could take and different goals that I want to achieve. Then I'll give the audience (if one exists) the platform to suggest ideas so that maybe some of these ideas can find their way eventually into Project Greenshift.

First off, the main structure of the initial project is not intended to change. I still want five options, and then once an option is chosen, five more options are generated. That is pretty simple. But because it is pretty simple, there are multiple different avenues of attack that we could move forward into after the foundation has been laid.

I specialized in AI and Machine Learning while in college so it would be interesting to include elements of that in introducing suggestions to the five options generated. We could also use that to determine which relationships to use since we'll probably need more relationships to serve as backups initially since relationships are by no means guarantees.

Another interesting feature we could add is to map out these traversals in the network and analyse any patterns or share these traversals with those looking for interesting content. One could imagine something like this turning into a daily "playlist" where curators can share their best finds and we can really reward authors who dedicate a lot of time, effort, and talent into their craft.

The goal of this project beyond finding interesting content should be to make using the Steem blockchain more fun. This doesn't imply that we need to create a game, but find clever mechanisms to find and share content which allows content creators to engage and interact more with fans and have a way of connecting non-posters with interesting content. The infrastructure isn't really there, so why not build it ourselves?

So, I open up the floor to my small audience. What features would you like to see added on top of Stage One of Project Greenshift? What relationships would you like added in order to move between posts? What types of applications do you think would make Steem a more entertaining and exciting blockchain to use? I'm all ears. Have a wonderful Friday and we jump back into programming tomorrow.
