Need Help Getting Gridcoin

in gridcoin •  7 years ago

So I'm almost there with the setup of the Gridcoin Wallet. But It says I need to have MATURE COINS TO STAKE IT. I tried using the Gridcoin Faucets but one of them wouldn't approve my CPID (Gridcoin Stats Faucet) and the other needs me to claim a certain amount before I can withdraw (Ebot is on bullshit for that)

IS THERE SOMEWHERE WHERE I CAN GET ENOUGH GRIDCOIN TO STAKE?

PLEASE HELP STEEMERS!!

If you don't want to buy gridcoin from an exchange to get started, I would join the pool. You don't require any gridcoin to get started, and you can start getting paid pretty quickly. Once you have enough to make it solo, then you can switch back to solo.

You need a minimum amount to be able to stake within a reasonable amount of time. Since the V8 stake engine changed very recent we currently rely on estimates. You can find some context here.

Can you confirm you are using the latest client? Should be 3.6.0.2

You have more change of getting help by getting in contact with other members on Slack or IRC.

Your net weight from the picture is very very low:

  • I'd say you are on a FORK
  • did you check block hashes yet ? see here

Mature coins are coins that are already for 16h in your wallet, only then those coins can be used to !stake

You also can go to uscore.net to claim a free 3 GRC.

You need a little over 1 GRC to send out your beacon.

Hello, and welcome.

Your screenshot says that your magnitude is zero. It needs some time until your Boinc results are veryfied and you get an Magnitude due to your contribution. Did you send a beacon?

The easiest would be for you to join a pool (www.grcpool.com) Without any Gridcoind and a small magnitude your chance to mine any gridcoin is very low.

As other people said, best to join a pool to start out if you don't want to invest in a starting amount of coins.

I read somewhere that in order to stake "regularly" the amount of coins needed are in the thousands, even heard that 10000GRC is recommended, otherwise you could possibly be waiting for months to cash in on your crunching work.

I'm not advertising for it but if your casually crunching with a laptop with cpu usage limited and some android phones like I am, it's best to start out in a pool and get garanteed payouts, you can always change to solo later on, if you feel ready for it.

I think this is The Gridcoin Myth That Never Died. 10k is estimated to stake every 1.2 days. If you want to stake every month you need ~420 GRC.

Thats great, I hope your right.

There are alot of myths that needs busting on the web..
