A Great Way to Spread the Word About Gridcoin

It seems that marketing has been a popular topic lately in the Gridcoin community. I've stumbled across an event that would be a great opportunity for us to really get Gridcoin out into the public eye. The event is called Token Fest.

Token Fest is an exclusive, two day networking event focused on the business and technology of tokenization. Attendees will gain a wealth of insights and information about the state of the token-based economy while networking with over 700 senior level thought leaders. Token Fest brings together business professionals from blockchain based enterprises including CEO’s, end users, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investors, regulators, attorneys & developers to network and collaborate on topics...

Token Fest currently has 39 sponsors and event partners, including Bitcoin.com ,Ethereum, and Blockchain. The amount of potential publicity is staggering, even if we just had one or two members go to network and spread the word. Now if we were to sponsor the event we could have our logo displayed there, as well as in their pamphlets and on their website. There are even more opportunities to market at the event if you were to get a higher sponsorship level. Here's the link to the sponsorship PDF for an in depth break down of the sponsorship costs and tiers.https://tokenfest.adria.digital/wp-content/themes/tokenfest/files/Token-Fest_Sponsorship.pdf

The Costs Are Currently

  • $497 Per Ticket
  • $3000 Minimum For Sponsorship (Includes 2 Tickets to the Event)

Now I know I'm relatively new to having a voice in the Gridcoin community and it's some decent cash to attend let alone sponsor, but this event could be a game changer if we had some of our most active members and developers go and network. Token Fest starts March 15, 2018, so we would have plenty of time to get funds together and prepare our marketing materials. (Like those 3D printed coins that @jetpatat made) Let me know what you guys think of the idea. I'd be more than willing to set up a GoFundMe for the event and donate as much money I can, if their were an interest from the heads of the GRC community.

The blockchain/crypto conference ecosystem is definitely beginning to pick up momentum. The fall circuit is underway and we are missing out on a few good ones for sure. The spring circuit already has several conferences set up and many more in the works. I think that we could create a team to research these conferences as they form, analyze the cost-benefit-feasibility of attending each one, and put together presentations/recommendations regarding attendance for each one. From there we can create standardized documentation which can be adapted to each conference we decide to attend.

Standardized documentation = basic outlines of our goals, priorities, and development roadmap. Each team for each conference would create their own content, but we need to have some basic threads connecting each team.

What do you think?

I like this idea a lot. I was just mentioning one potential event we could attend, but if analyze a few, make a report about them, and see what the community thinks, it would be a lot better. We could have multiple official "teams" that go to the large events, and we could have official presentations and other materials for smaller "teams" to spread around at local events too. Here's my discord channel that I set up for GRC networking if you're interested. Again, great Idea!
