What is Gridcoin?
Gridcoin securely rewards BOINC computation on top of Proof of Stake. Reward allocation is distributed, not centralized unlike other distributed computing related cryptocurrencies.

Why are we holding these hangouts?
- A mumble conference call can provide significant advantages over communicating via forums and IRC.
- To create opportunities to inform the public of new Gridcoin, BOINC and related services & their development progress.
- To bridge relations between the cryptocurrency & BOINC communities.
How long will the hangout last?
If there are not many topics suggested then hangouts won't last longer than an hour, on the other hand if there are many topic suggested then the hangout may last 2-3 hours!
When the Gridcoin Community Hangouts start really picking up traction we can become more strict with allocated speaking time if need be (so you're not waiting hours to talk).

Can we discuss anything?
It's advisable to stay generally on topic, attendees are distributed around the world so they may not (likely won't) share the same views regarding controversial topics not related to Gridcoin/BOINC/Cryptocurrency.
That said, this 'on topic' guideline fizzles away once official recording has ended & the hangout becomes a more relaxed environment.

Step 5: Configure your audio wizard & setup Push-To-Talk. Join 10-15 mins before the hangout starts to test your audio configuration.

Suchflex is shutting down???
Dear Suchflexers,
Ivan and John started Suchflex with the goal of bringing the benefits of distributed computing to everyone. Although we have been successful in getting interest from owners of consumer devices to contribute their computing resources, we have not made as much progress in building the demand-side of our distributed computing marketplace. With that in-mind, we have made a difficult decision to suspend our consumer-facing Suchflex service for the time being.
IMPORTANT:
All Suchflex users who have current earning on the Suchflex platfrom will be redeemed by this Friday - November 25th 5pm PST. Please make your preferred Redemption choice by that time. If you have not communicated a choice to us by that time, we will redeem through Coinbase to the email on record for your account.
FLEXCOIN:
Everyone who has made redemptions into FLEX, will be redeemed in USD +10% of their original redemption. (ie. If you have redeemed $100 into FLEX, you will be paid $110 USD). The payments will go to your communicated preferred method of receiving redemptions by this Friday - November 25th 5pm PST. If you have not communicated a redemption choice to us by that time, we will redeem through Coinbase to the email on record for your account.

Sad times, hopefully the SuchFlex guys are able to figure something out for themselves. They were great guests on the Gridcoin Community Hangouts in the past - their attendance was much appreciated.
The SuchFlex guys spoke about potentially making their own BOINC project in the future, perhaps we'll see another business venture from them soon enough? 1st commercial BOINC project?

FifthGB from #Curecoin (CURE), whom i met in the #Foldingcoin #slack would like a chance to speak at today's hangout about how we can form a community of science-related coins to help each other accomplish common goals.
I think this is an amazing idea, and have already been chatting with him about future possibilities... many of the things we spoke about in previous chats could come to fruition. :D

$300 every 90 days if we do not maintain $5000/month transaction volume (we'll deal w/ this at a later date).
I say we get integrated and work on getting a gridcoin paywall added to the BOINC web server and maybe a fork of beyondbitcoin.io for gridcoin!

Hangout expense poll
I submitted an expense to reimburse the last 15 Gridcoin community hangouts, but I've ran into a glitch which prevents showing the full details within the client.
The latest expense attempt was for #001-015, $1200 in GRC (approx: 266,312)
TL;DR: Created 5 different expenses to try get around the glitch, now we have to vote on one/all of them (lol).
