I think raining the GRC on all researchers based on the magnitude of the SB before the exploit is the right thing to do here.

It was GRC taken away from researchers. Developers should not be encouraged to exploit the system then take the stolen GRC as a bounty in the future.

EDIT:

@ravonn has done some investigation and it turns out that the exploit would not have taken any GRC away from existing researchers so I have changed my vote to Burn Them since they should never have been produced in the first place and giving them to people to sell could potentially put downward pressure on the price of GRC.

My Vote: Burn Them

Further details on why I voted to burn them in this post.

status after 5 days:

  • 64.1% burn them
  • 28.7% use as dev bounties

total voting shares: 35.95 millon

The poll has ended:

  • 63% want it burnt
  • 28.7% used for dev bounties

total voting shares: 37.26 million

Tomáš burnt it + added extra GRCs to it

So why did it say "September 12"?

Correction as there was no " attempt " it was 100% successful and multiple times and a little bit more than 30k GRC.
Also gridcoinstats.eu and his/her choice to direct all new users to the monopoly pool and no faucet payouts if you have less than 10k GRC should void future polls of any donations to the site. That 20k initial foundation donation was to get new users started solo and get their beacon out.

The initial 20k GRC donation, which has only been given once, has been used up in its full and was never given out to anyone without a CPID. Sponsored funds was always required to have a valid CPID to receive. It does not require you to have 10k GRC though, just that you have a valid CPID.

I have however given out a lot of coins for free to anyone with just a single address. Some users abused this and claimed to several of their addresses from different units or IP addresses.

This is the reason I decided to stop giving free coins to just a single address, for now.

The free fauce for anyone might come back soon. I still wish to see it open to everyone to receive free coins. But it was far to easy to abuse. I didn't think the funds was well used in this regard.

But as you state, and I agree, gridcoinstats is not asking for any foundation funding for the faucet until I can open a free one again.

Either burn them or give them to me. I see no other logical thing to do.
