GRIDCOIN: Wallet stuck at block 1010002, what to do?

There is a discussion over in reddit of the problem "Wallet stuck at block 1010002, what to do?":

I just wanted to highlight this problem in Steemit as well as it would had saved me several intention to reestablish Wallet and Blockchain for two days.
Yes, I have the same problem.
And it seems that the devs are working on a solution.
