Would anyone be interested in a Discord Server for Marketgrid?

I'm not going to make a huge post, this is a pretty straight forward topic. Basically using a discord server would allow for more fluid interactions. Discord is a Social Network app that is basically the lovechild of Slack and Skype and a gaming voip app like Mumble in one. It offers great administration tools (necessary for running something like a peer to peer exchange) as well as voip.

The reason I propose Discord is because it's my go-to Social Network, I'm an admin on two other servers already so I know the basics. I dont use telegram and I dont like slack's limitations unless you are paying.

Thanks for this poll @ragnarokdel but can I suggest to add a bit more context around the following:

  1. What is Discord?
  2. Why Discord instead of slack or telegram?
  3. How does it improve the communication in the Gridcoin community?

Maybe the answers are already on Steemit and everybody is fully aware, in which case you can just diregards my comments above.

fair enough I will edit my post. As for your third point, it's easier for me to make a discord server and manage it then it is to have to deal with whoever runs the official discord. (I dont even know who runs it) Let's say someone is a scammer, can I really afford to wait X hours to ban him because the current admin isnt on?

The current admins on the Gridcoin Discord are ravon, Barton, jringo, Peppernrino, and myself.

I didnt realize there were so many admins on the official discord server. It wouldnt hurt to separate the roles to make it more evident :p

what are the requirements? I have always been willing to host stuff for the community but there are trust issues between everybody since Gridcoin deals with $$$$ nobody trusts anybody especially not me although I have offered services since I joined over a year ago. Prolly not going to be the one due to that but requirements and everything would be good to post too at the least.

There's a few approved escrows. Escrows have to give a deposit greater than what they are approved for, which I keep on a cold wallet, in case they scam someone. As for requirements, yes there will be some. The same rules as the subreddit will be required to even be able to offer a trade.
