What happened to my Gricoin PoR reward?

in gridcoin •  5 years ago

My latest PoR reward had 50 GRC deducted. Was this a tax to fund development? Something more insidious?

Below is my transaction record as shown in the client. You will see a 50 GRC debit, apparently payable to myself.

Gridcoin generated coins must mature 110 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

You had a 50GRC UTXO which staked and you earned a 10GRC block reward and 1.02000124GRC in research rewards. The transaction always looks like this. The original utxo is deducted so that the new utxo with the additional GRC can be created all as one. The was no nefarious anything going on, but the raw staking transaction info can be a bit cryptic if you aren't used to seeing it.
