Team Gridcoin participates in various friendly challenges on the BOINC platform. Participating in these events gives the Gridcoin platform great, and free, advertising. You may even get some extra rewards out of it trough the project rain.

Project Rain
Many challenges also gives out "showers" to participating users to encourage crunching projects on the challenge list. This is a token of appreciation for doing something that benefits the community. Showers of coins may rain on you, but is not guaranteed. Make sure to read the Gridcoin Forum for more details.
