Gridcoin: Numbers of Addresses Staking in a 1000 blocks.

Hi Gridcoiners,

I didnt make a post for a while on this coin, just been busy elsewhere, but Im still committed and crunch erry day! I also stake 24/7 to maintain the network, and what a network it is.

As NeuralMiner announced his open-source explorer the other day, I decided to take a look at it a bit deeper, here is his hamster/hairline powered site if you arent familiar:

https://grcexplorer.neuralminer.io/

Seeing as he took the time to put up an API, I thought I would hammer the shit out of it (sorry NM!) and see how many unique addresses staked in a 1,000 block timeframe, a bit of Python code later and the answer presented itself:

790 Unique Addresses Staked 1000 Blocks

Thats pretty good in terms of decentalization, clearly some could be addresses in overlapping wallets, but its doubtful there would be that many overlaps in just 1,000 blocks of staking.

Gridcoin is highly under-rated in these terms, its got very good distribution in terms of equality (versus many other coins), and a lot of fullnodes and active miners (researchers) too.

The low price is a travesty really, but you cant expect there to be enough attention when the space is so crowded with scam ICOs, lets hope things move on sometime soon.

Nice!

I'm interested to see how the coming developments change this (CBR, MRC, Team Requirement Removal)

I can run it again so long as @NeuralMiner hamsters don't run out of puff ;)

If it is easy for you to run the calculation every so often, it could be a valuable metric to keep track of.

Yeah tha main concern is not overloading the API, I assume @nurealminer has some rate limiting on it but before I do anything I should check in with him really

Go for it. Glad it's useful.

Great to hear.

Concerning the price: I did an absolute bargain with such low prices and bought a few K to smooth out the staking experience :-)

I'm not a trader though, so I'm not that worried about pricing ofcourse.

To be honest I only care about correct development, allocation of resources for developers and proper whitelisted projects.

Yep.. I'm in it for the long term.
