For the little while I have been here on steemit, I have received nothing but fulfillment or will I say prayers answered. From the first active post I made and shared my experience on giving to the poor even when I didn’t have any form of sure source of income, I promised myself that at the arrival of any financial breakthrough that I will adopt that habit and give to the poor and less-privileged.
That was my personal conclusion and I vowed to stick by it. So when steem-care project was born I became over whelmed with happiness to see that there are people with like interests as mine. I so interested maybe because I have this soft spot for the less-privileged when ever they are mentioned around me. That feeling is not of pity but a feeling of mandatory and self obligation toward the needs of others. Although there are people who believe that they do not owe a dime to anyone but when it comes to me, I am a believer of the opposite.
The birth of steem-care project through steemit in Nigeria
Steem-care project is an initiative that was created by the collective efforts of @jade56, @illuminatus, @ehiboss, and @gloglo (my humble self) through the influence of steemit in Nigeria. It is a non profitable initiative that is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of people who lost it due to some circumstances beyond their control like the needy, poor and the less privileged. This project has its visions and mission which was coined by the people aforementioned. The name of the project (steem-care) is not a yardstick to collect a dime from the community but we use it because steemit has fueled this project by given us something to fall back to financially. So the little we can do in return is to also be of help to people closest to us who needs help and attention financially and emotionally.
Vision
- Steem-care is aimed at seeing that the people it can reach out to gets the love and care they lack from the initiative.
- To make our targets understand that there are people who have their well-fare and interests at heart.
- To use the blessings we receive from steemit to give back to the poor in our society.
- We look forward to creating scholarships on the long run which is a big dream of this initiative but at the moment we are doing the little we can.
Mission
- Visiting an orphanage home and beggars by the first weekend of September.
- With Steem-care members’ contributions of #10,000 that is about 40 SBD each, will be used to buy some stationeries and raw food items(a 25kg bag of rice) for the less privileged of less than fifteen children.
- Steem-care will be presenting cooked delicious food, stationeries and toiletries to the beggars at the roadside of Sabo, Lagere of Ile-Ife in Osun State Nigeria.
Like I mentioned before now, steem-care is more like a charity and non-profit making initiative that has the interest of the needy at heart. We believe that if we can get this amount of love from steemit by just doing what we love through putting words together then we can extend that measure of love to those who are in desperate need of it in our society as well.
This was not to be made public as we are really doing this from our hearts, but at the second thought we decided otherwise, so that we can preach the goodness in giving back to the society too. Sometimes we need to give no matter how small to people who do not have anywhere to fall back to. We also want to make everyone in this community understand that giving with love to those around us opens a new chapter of breakthrough. It is true that steemit is not a charity organization but from the benefit we get here, it’s enough to do good and be generous to those who have little. It might not be possible for everyone to help the whole nation at once, but starting with that beggar at the gate post goes a long way too. There is a saying that change begins with you, it starts from little and gradually explodes into something bigger.
My message to everyone is to make that change pronounced and resounding. Give back to the society and be great ambassadors of charity and love. It doesn’t matter the background but coming together to put smiles on faces is the best thing you would want to do for life.
For this particular project we only request for your humble upvotes and resteem as it will go a long way. Although for those that it itches badly to donate can do so for the steemit in Nigeria event coming up in November at Osun State. Thank you for the love and support from the steemit community as a whole and to all our humble followers, its really a blessing to be here. Long live Steemit!
Stay happy, Stay motivated. Till I come your way again… I remain yours @gloglo.
